There is good news for Delhiites.  From June 1, more than 40 public charging stations in the national capital will be able to charge their Electric Vehicle (EV) free of cost from 12 noon to 3 pm.

How Delhi Government Promoting EV ?

 The aim is to promote the use of electric vehicles

 Officials said the move is aimed at promoting the use of electric vehicles.  The noontime EV free charging initiative has been launched by EV charging startup 'Electriva', which has partnered with the three municipal corporations to set up more than 40 public charging stations in Delhi.


 Charging will be done at the rate of Rs 10 per unit in the morning and evening

 Apart from this, the per unit rate of vehicle charge has been kept at Rs 10 at these charging stations in the morning and evening.  Electriva founder Sumit Dhanuka told PTI that his company will set up a charging station every three kilometers in Delhi.

 Claims to set up 300 new e-charging stations in three months

 Let us tell you that the Aam Aadmi Party government is also working continuously to make Delhi the capital of electric vehicles.  To strengthen the EV infrastructure, e-charging stations will be installed in the dense and rural areas of the capital.  The state government claims that 300 new e-charging stations will be installed in the next three months.

How many EV charging Point in Delhi ?

 Recently, Delhi's Energy Minister Satyendar Jain had said that the Delhi government has given tenders for 500 charging points.  Tenders have been floated by the state nodal agency, Delhi Transco Limited for setting up EV charging infrastructure in Delhi.


 Satyendar Jain had told that by June 27, 100 public charging stations with 500 charging points would be set up in Delhi.
